Hyōbu Sakaki was the Chamberlain of the Mochizuki Clan, who commanded the Kōga Team. His leadership role allowed him to remain within the confines of the clan's territory while he sent spies to complete an investigation into Shimoda Village. He was later killed and impersonated by Genma Himuro.
Personality[]
Hyōbu Sakaki was a noble leader of the Mochizuki Clan for many decades. It is unknown how he was to his people before. However, after the events at the Shimoda Village, his men started to notice a change in his behavior. He started to act very cold and blunt when giving out orders. He was also seen engaging in frequent sex with his chambermaids. And thus it was later discovered that Genma Himuro had in fact killed him and was impersonating Sakaki the whole time. Genma was able to destroy the Kōga Team from the inside out.
Appearance[]
Sakaki has the appearance of an aging Japanese man with a burly build. It is apparent that he has spent many years leading his men without having to fight in the field as a ninja. He wears traditional kimono garbs.
Biography[]
The chamberlain of the Mochizuki clan, he commands the Kōga ninja to investigate the destruction of Shimoda Village. When Kagerō is the only one to return alive, he orders her to complete the investigation alone.
Towards the end of the film, as the Shogun of the Dark's men load a ship with gold, Sakaki appears at Kashima leading a band of Mochizuki warriors apparently in response to a message from Kagerō. To her surprise, however, it is actually Himuro Gemma in disguise, who reveals that he had murdered the chamberlain days before just as he strikes down Kagerō.
Abilities[]
He was probably a wise ninja clan leader and used his wisdom to lead his men. His physical abilities are unknown.
