Hanza was a shinobi who led Kōga Team. He was killed by Tessai.
Personality[]
Hanza was a noble and kind ninja captain who looked out for the safety of his clansmen. He had an affection for Kagerō and the burden she carried. He even threw himself at Tessai to distract the enemy from Kagerō, hoping she'll be able to escape.
Appearance[]
He is a rather normal looking man showing traits of life experience. Hanza has black hair, black eyes, and sharp facial features. He always has a serious facial expression.
Biography[]
Hanza is the captain of the Kōga Team sent out by Hyōbu Sakaki to investigate the source of the plague that has destroyed Shimoda Village. As the Kōga make their way through the forest, they are ambushed by Yurimaru and Tessai of the Eight People of Kimon. The entire team apart from Kagerō are slaughtered and Hanza is caught by Tessai. Tessai uses his sheer brute strength to rip off Hanza's arms with his bare hands, then drinks the blood that pours from the severed limbs. Hanza, of course, dies from the trauma and blood loss.
Later in the film, Zakuro reanimates Hanza's body and loads it with gunpowder, turning it into a walking bomb to try and kill Kagerō and Jūbei. She fails to kill either of them.
Abilities[]
He's the head of Intelligence for the Mochizuki clan, and his spies are able to spot the People of Kimon in the early stages of their plan and attempt to start connecting the dots. His abilities were that of an experienced ninja. Sadly, he suffered a painful and brutal death at the hands of Tessai and was absolutely no match for him.
